Prakrit Convocations

The National Institute of Prakrit Studies and Research Shravanabelagola is organising the Prakrit correspondence courses in all-over India. The Institute is also organising convocations for their students.

The history of convocation ceremonies at the NIPSAR Campus, Shree Dhavalateertham, Shravanabelagola, has been marked by the presence of eminent scholars delivering speeches on these auspicious occasions. Here is a summary of the convocations from the Begining:

These convocations have celebrated academic achievements and honored the contributions of distinguished scholars from various parts of India.

First Prakrit Convocation

The First Convocation of the Institute was held on 8th June 2006 at Shravanabelagola. The Convocation address was delivered by renowned Prakrit scholar Prof. Bhagachandra Jain Bhaskar, Nagpur. Paramapujya Jagadguru Swastishri Charukeerthy Bhattaraka Swamiji Shravanabelagola, delivered his Presidential address on this occasion. He has also honored medalist students by giving them Gold, Silver and Bronze medal. In this Convocation certificate were conferred on 132 students for Prakrit Exam.

Second Prakrit Convocation

The 2nd Convocation was organised on 17th June-2007 at Chamundaraya Mantapa in Shravanabelagola, on this occasion Convocation speech was delivered by eminent Prakrit scholar Prof. Dr. Raja Ram Jain, Noida. Chief-Guest of the Convocation was Prof. Vachaspathi, New Delhi.

Third Prakrit Convocation

The 3rd Convocation was held on 22nd September 2008 at Dhavalateertham campus. Convocation Speech was delivered by eminent scholar Prof. T.V. Venkatachala Shastry, Mysore. Prof. Prem Suman Jain, Director of the Vidyapeeth has given oath to the students. Shri M.J. Indra Kumar, Working President of Bahubali Prakrit Vidyapeeth has given his Presidential Address.

Fourth Prakrit Convocation

The 4th Convocation was held on 14th June 2009 in Shri Chavundaraya Mantap, Shravanabelagola. On this occassion convocation speech was delivedred by eminent scholar Prof. Radha Vallabh Tripathi, Vice-Chancellor, Rashtirya Sanskrit Sansthan, New Delhi. Chief-Guest of the Convocation was Prof. PadmaShekar, Mysore.

Fifth Prakrit Convocation

The 5th Convocation was held on 1st August 2010 at Chamundaraya Mantap, Shravanabelagola. Convocation speech was delivered by eminent scholar Prof. R.P. Poddar, General Editor, Prakrit-English Dictionary Project, Bhandarkar Oriental Research Institute, Pune. Chief Guest was Prof. Bhashyam Swamy, Principal, Sanskrit College, Mysore & Director, Sanskrit Research Foundation, Melukote and Dr. Rajesh Sachdev, Director, CIIL, Mysore,

Sixth Prakrit Convocation

The 6th Convocation was held on 27th August 2011 at Chamundaraya Mantap, Shravanabelagola. On this occasion convocation speech was delivered by eminent scholar Dr. Saloni N joshi, Ahamedabad.
